Bajumpandan Children’s Outreach

Jul 16th, 2010 | By bezalelcircle.ccd | Category: Bajumpandan Children's Outreach, Highlights

Bajumpandan is one of the subdivision sites scattered around Dumaguete where Habitat for Humanity, Inc, have built houses for the urban poor of the city. Composed of row houses of similar size and design, homeowners here include, tricycle drivers, laborers, vendors, security guards, casual government workers and public school teachers.

Bajumpandan II is where the Calvary Chapel Dumaguete has an outreach.

The children eagerly await their Bible lessons each Sunday afternoon. The ministry has already visibly made an impact on the lives of the kids for they would tell each other that one day, when they are older, it will be their turn to teach in the Sunday school.

From a Sunday School which started out as an open classroom where the children would use leftover construction logs as their benches, to plastic chairs to sit on, the outreach has continued to grow and prosper through God’s grace and abundant provision.

There is a need for more volunteer teachers…We invite you to join this great outreach ministry!

Ariel and Lucille and their three daughters, who have been faithfully leading this ministry for four years now, share this request:

“Please start praying for each kid, that they will truly know Christ Jesus in a very personal and intimate way…”

“That people reading this story will lead us all to our knees and pray with them…more so that the children will see the power of a personal savior who died for them…”

Hospital Ministry

  • Going into group prayer before going to the hospital wards…
  • By pairs, the Word of God is preached…with Team 1
  • Team 2
  • Team 4
  • Team 5
  • Team 6

The Hospital Ministry is comprised of a group of 20+ church members who are eager to share the Word of God. Every Sunday at 2:00 pm the team gather at the small pavilion located just outside the local government hospital for a moment of prayer. Immediately, the members pair up and distribute themselves into the different wards and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the patients and their “bantays” (friends or family members who help look after the patients during their confinement in the hospital).

Group prayer before going to the hospital wards…

Without any frills or fanfare they ask permission to share the Word. While one partner speaks…the other prays and intercedes. Prayer is an absolute need, for without it, from the team’s experience the sharing becomes hollow and ineffective.

The response from the patients and their “bantays” is warm and positive. Being confronted with illness, pain and uncertainty about their future, hearing the Word of God is an assurance that Someone cares for them, that there is hope and that there are also people who understand and empathize with them.

There are times when the team meet great resistance, but through continuous prayer, they are emboldened to stand their ground and continue with their gentle sharing. Patients and their families who find themselves in a strange environment and who have no control over their situation bring about behavior and emotions that are far from normal. With the leading of the Holy Spirit, the Hospital Ministry Team enters each ward with great sensitivity to the needs of the patients and their respective families who are under great stress and trauma.

The Hospital Ministry is led by Dory Moncal . They meet every Sunday at 2 pm to do visitation at the local government hospital.

If you have a heart for sharing and ministering to those who are experiencing injury or illness please contact the church office at these numbers:

The CCD Sunday School Ministry

Apr 8th, 2010 | By bezalelcircle.ccd | Category: Highlights

We believe that LOVE is the virtue of Christianity. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we, at Sunday School, desire to imitate Jesus Christ as we equip kids, in love. These children are tomorrow’s leaders – in the church, in the society. We desire that we could prepare them, in cooperation with their parents, to be adults who do not only know God’s word, but also apply them in their daily lives.

Our Goals:

1. To teach God’s word each Sunday in a creative method that is age-appropriate.
2. To help each child discover his gifts, for the edification of the church, by exposing them to ministry and church activities
3. To equip teachers and parents by conducting seminars/workshops and information dissemination.
4. To hold children outreach for kids in the neighborhood or other areas.
5. To build relationships among the Sunday School kids by conducting Kids Camp.
6. To build relationships among Sunday School volunteers and strengthen relationship with Jesus collectively by holding an annual retreat.
7. To build relationships with parents of Sunday School kids as partners.

Chapel of the Doves

Chapel of the Doves

Mission: Love alone for Jesus Christ is the motivation behind our missionary thrust and answering that commission He gave in Matthew 28:18-20Matthew 28:18-20
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teach…: or, make disciples, or, Christians of all nations 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

WP-Bible plugin
is at the heart of Chapel of the Doves. God’s order in Mark 10:13-16Mark 10:13-16
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

WP-Bible plugin
excites us and moves us to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the next generation. Whether its across the streets or across the islands - our desire is to bring the good news to those who have not heard through the children. We believe that the only true basis of Christianity is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

 Vision:

Every child should know the love of Christ through His word, hence, the entire Bible will be taught to the child. We want each child to be ministered to in a a manner that allows for them to enter into the presence of Jesus Christ. To that end, there are classes for all ages (3 levels). the curriculum we teach progresses through selective books of the Bible. Praise and worship songs, memory verses, Bible stories, crafts and games are used to instill joy in the knowledge of the scriptures. Praise reports and games are given by the children right after the praise and worship, then the study of the word. In short, Chapel of the Doves is actually a children’s church.

Jesus Exemplified: May 25-30 Youth Camp 2009!

Jul 20th, 2009 | By CCD-Lanni D | Category: Highlights, Summer Youth Camp

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1Timothy 4:12

This is the welcome letter the campers received from Glen and Abba Tantio, a young couple who are youth ministry leaders in Calvary Chapel Dumaguete.

LIVINGSTONES YOUTH MINISTRY OF CALVARY CHAPEL DUMAGUETE

WELCOMES YOU TO YOUTH CAMP 2009!

Dear Camper,

I want you to know from the start that we are so excited you are here! You may be here for the first time and not too sure what to expect. You may have come unwillingly, or you may have come before and are expecting more of  the same. Whatever it may be, God has brought you here for a purpose. He wants to speak to you. I encourage you to lay all your expectations aside and be open to whatever the Lord may want to do in and through you this week.

God desires that you would know Him not just as some spiritual force or creator but as a loving, caring Father who loves you so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die for your sins. This intimacy is only possible through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

My prayer is that through this Camp God would develop in you an unquenchable hunger and thirst for more of Him. I pray you will surrender your life to Him and allow Him to transform you by His awesome power.

We have an exciting week ahead of learning, worship, fun activities and building new friendships so don’t miss out by holding back. Let go and let God have His way! I promise…you will never be the same again!

In His Grip,

Experience the Hope for You Concerts: Dapitan/Dipolog

Apr 4th, 2009 | By bezalelcircle.ccd | Category: Highlights, Media

Through the photos and videos we invite you to witness God’s grace and glory! Experience God’s miracle in Dapitan and Dipolog…

Awesome
backdrop2

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOMEIS THE LORD! These are the only words that came out of my lips as I witnessed God’s glory and power in our recently concluded outreach/concert in Dapitan and Dipolog. Our words fail to describe what Jesus has done! In Dapitan there were more or less 200 people came forward to receive Christ and in Dipolog, with around 5,000 people in the complex, more or less 600 came to trust in Christ as their savior! What a blessing! And that’s not all! There were so many other things that happened that cannot be measured by numbers…through the photos and videos we invite you to witness God’s grace and glory!

Pastor Jo

Notes
breakthrough1

God of the Breakthrough!

Who would imagine that a city as hard as Dapitan (in terms of religious stronghold – Roman Catholic Dominated and 15% of the population worship Jose Rizal!), many would flock inside the Auditorium (We’re told we’re the first Christian group who have successfully gathered that number of people – around 2,000?)? Only the God of the Breakthrough!

Who would think that amidst the brownout people are like being sucked inside the Auditorium like wave after wave? Only the God of the Breakthrough!

Who could ever see it – that even though there are lapses in the information dissemination that many a people were drawn to the concert? Only the God of the Breakthrough!

Who could silence our doubts and feelings of defeat when we thought nobody or very few would come to the concert? Only the God of the Breakthrough!

Who could pull us together as a team despite of the growing tensions that were brewing due to the tiredness, stress and pressures? Only the God of the Breakthrough!

To whom would you go to when the battle seems lost? Only to the God of the Breakthrough!

Who could ever do it that amidst the noises inside and the disturbances outside, God’s Word preached still pierced through the hearts of the unconverted souls? Only the God of the Breakthrough!

Who could have done it, that hundreds of people coming forward, convicted of their sin and seeing their need of Jesus, found forgiveness and received salvation that night? Only the God of the Breakthrough!

Yes, these and many more are evidences of God’s power and grace. The battle was intense you could sensed it. But the enemy is no match against the God of the Breakthrough! Jesus is victorious. How it pays to know that we’re fighting not FOR victory but FROM victory. For Christ has already won the victory for us 2,000 years ago on the cross of Calvary! You may be going through some battles right now. Whatever it is look to the God of the breakthrough. It may look bleak and black but His light will shine through the dark clouds of doubts and through the black smoke of fear and worries.

Trust in the God of the Breakthrough today and you will see that indeed the battle belongs to the Lord!

Message/Call
Around 5-600 people gave their lives to Christ in this concert! Actually even more because there were many who were not given a response card! Praise to Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest!
