Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you…”

OUR VISION:
In prayer —
WE desire GRACE from the Lord that we may become a blessing to the church and its various ministries;
WE desire WISDOM from the Lord that our teaching others on the gifts HE has given will bear much fruit for the glory of HIS Kingdom;
WE desire HOPE from the Lord that others may see the fullness of their gifts through the power of the Holy Spirit and use them for HIS glory;
WE desire HUMILITY from the Lord that we may create works of art as an expression of the beauty of worship, proclaiming the glory of God;
WE desire ACCEPTANCE from the Lord that our service may be a fragrant offering sweet and pleasing to HIM;
ABOVE ALL, We desire MERCY from the Lord that we will remain faithful to our calling until HE returns.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1Timothy 4:12

This is the welcome letter the campers received from Glen and Abba Tantio, a young couple who are youth ministry leaders in Calvary Chapel Dumaguete.
LIVINGSTONES YOUTH MINISTRY OF CALVARY CHAPEL DUMAGUETE
WELCOMES YOU TO YOUTH CAMP 2009!
Dear Camper,
I want you to know from the start that we are so excited you are here! You may be here for the first time and not too sure what to expect. You may have come unwillingly, or you may have come before and are expecting more of the same. Whatever it may be, God has brought you here for a purpose. He wants to speak to you. I encourage you to lay all your expectations aside and be open to whatever the Lord may want to do in and through you this week.
God desires that you would know Him not just as some spiritual force or creator but as a loving, caring Father who loves you so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die for your sins. This intimacy is only possible through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.
My prayer is that through this Camp God would develop in you an unquenchable hunger and thirst for more of Him. I pray you will surrender your life to Him and allow Him to transform you by His awesome power.
We have an exciting week ahead of learning, worship, fun activities and building new friendships so don’t miss out by holding back. Let go and let God have His way! I promise…you will never be the same again!
In His Grip,

Glen and Abba Tantio

Congrats to Glen and Abba on the new addition to
their family! Zar is now a ‘Kuya’ to baby Selah…

Through the photos and videos we invite you to witness God’s grace and glory! Experience God’s miracle in Dapitan and Dipolog…
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME…IS THE LORD! These are the only words that came out of my lips as I witnessed God’s glory and power in our recently concluded outreach/concert in Dapitan and Dipolog. Our words fail to describe what Jesus has done! In Dapitan there were more or less 200 people came forward to receive Christ and in Dipolog, with around 5,000 people in the complex, more or less 600 came to trust in Christ as their savior! What a blessing! And that’s not all! There were so many other things that happened that cannot be measured by numbers…through the photos and videos we invite you to witness God’s grace and glory!
Pastor Jo
God of the Breakthrough!
Who would imagine that a city as hard as Dapitan (in terms of religious stronghold – Roman Catholic Dominated and 15% of the population worship Jose Rizal!), many would flock inside the Auditorium (We’re told we’re the first Christian group who have successfully gathered that number of people – around 2,000?)? Only the God of the Breakthrough!
Who would think that amidst the brownout people are like being sucked inside the Auditorium like wave after wave? Only the God of the Breakthrough!
Who could ever see it – that even though there are lapses in the information dissemination that many a people were drawn to the concert? Only the God of the Breakthrough!
Who could silence our doubts and feelings of defeat when we thought nobody or very few would come to the concert? Only the God of the Breakthrough!
Who could pull us together as a team despite of the growing tensions that were brewing due to the tiredness, stress and pressures? Only the God of the Breakthrough!
To whom would you go to when the battle seems lost? Only to the God of the Breakthrough!
Who could ever do it that amidst the noises inside and the disturbances outside, God’s Word preached still pierced through the hearts of the unconverted souls? Only the God of the Breakthrough!
Who could have done it, that hundreds of people coming forward, convicted of their sin and seeing their need of Jesus, found forgiveness and received salvation that night? Only the God of the Breakthrough!
Yes, these and many more are evidences of God’s power and grace. The battle was intense you could sensed it. But the enemy is no match against the God of the Breakthrough! Jesus is victorious. How it pays to know that we’re fighting not FOR victory but FROM victory. For Christ has already won the victory for us 2,000 years ago on the cross of Calvary! You may be going through some battles right now. Whatever it is look to the God of the breakthrough. It may look bleak and black but His light will shine through the dark clouds of doubts and through the black smoke of fear and worries.
Trust in the God of the Breakthrough today and you will see that indeed the battle belongs to the Lord!

For quite some time now the Lord has placed upon the hearts of the Elders of Calvary Chapel Dumaguete, led by Pastor Jo, to focus on missions. One initiative for missions focused on Thailand and to support the Calvary Chapel Dumaguete (CCD) church workers there. This resulted in a trip to Thailand composed of a group dedicated to do missions work – an activity supported generously by the CCD Church family. At the same time the Holy Spirit revealed a need to do missions work as well in the Philippines, particularly in Mindanao. Where exactly in Mindanao was not known yet…But prayers continued to be lifted up to the Lord for His leading.
God has a way of putting things in place and in perfect order… A series of events and situations all happened in rapid succession clearly revealing God’s plans for CCD to direct its attention for local missions work to start in Dipolog, a city located in Mindanao.

First, the Take No Glory Band (TNG) from the United States, came to Dumaguete to do an evangelistic concert. Pastor Jo gave the message during the concert after which more than 600 individuals came forward and received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior..God’s mighty hand indeed was evident during this concert. People then approached Pastor Jo to do a similar evangelistic concert as a follow up to the TNG concert. Calvary Chapel Dumaguete has its own core of musicians who comprise the Praise and Worship team and a good choir that can provide top notch Christian music. When and where to hold a concert was then the prayer.
In God’s wonderful synchronization of His plan unfolding and being revealed – during this period: numerous cellphone text messages from individuals were coming forth from the Dipolog-Dapitan area (both of these cities are located in Mindanao) as a result of having been touched by the Lord through the CCD radio and TV ministries. People were expressing appreciation for the messages being aired regularly (replays of the sermons given by Pastor Jo during the Sunday and midweek services here in Dumaguete); inquiries were received curious as to what Calvary Chapel was; shortly thereafter, the CCD choir director, Jing Guevarra, approached Pastor Jo and shared with him how the Holy Spirit placed upon her heart to do an evangelistic concert in Dipolog.

This vision from the Lord of doing the first CCD evangelistic crusade in Dipolog was confirmed by several members of the church. A visit to Dipolog was organized to put God’s plan to fruition. Through contacts amongst God’s servants a meeting with the association of local church pastors in Dipolog, ZANEMA (Zamboanga del Norte Ministerial Association) was arranged. On October 4, 2008r 4, 2008
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV
WP-Bible plugin, Pastor Jo together with the CCD elders and their wives, went to Dipolog. During this first gathering with ZANEMA, Pastor Jo, revealed to the brethren Pastors God’s leading for CCD to hold an evangelistic crusade in their city.
The association responded with great enthusiasm. “…we have been waiting for something like this to take place in our hometown…the Lord must love us for giving us this event to be able to share God’s word through a concert…”
Lifting this activity to God, the Lord continues to open doors of opportunities for CCD. Upon hearing of the planned Dipolog evangelistic concert, a pastor from the association suggested to Pastor Jo and the Elders that since Dapitan is very near why not do a concert there as well? Indeed God is awesome in the ways He makes everything work together. Co-workers in God’s vineyard in Dapitan have eagerly embraced the idea of the concert and volunteers there are coming forward to help out.
So finally, plans are being put in motion to hold evangelistic concerts on the 20th of February in Dapitan and Dipolog on the 21st. The CCD Praise and Worship team and the choir are now fervently busy with their practices. The committees are in place, the technical support and logistics groups are now meeting to map out the details of the the trip for the two cities.
Here, we share with you some pictures of the first and second survey trips to Dipolog:
The two concerts entitled “Hope for You” will feature a message from Pastor Joseph Jo and music from the CCD Praise and Worship Team and the CCD choir. Both concerts will begin at 7 pm and admission is FREE. If you have friends and relatives in both Dapitan and Dipolog, this is a great opportunity for you to introduce them to God’s GOOD NEWS! Email them a copy of this article and invite them to attend the concert.
Contact us at email: ccdgte@gmail.com or phone: (035) 225-0407 & (035) 422-9093 if you want more information.
Please pray with us as we continue to lay before the feet of Jesus the two evangelistic concerts. We pray for the Lord’s PROVISION, His constant LEADING, GUIDANCE and of course, the HARVEST.
See you in Dapitan on February 20 and Dipolog on February 21!

…God opened the door for us to play a full evangelistic concert at Sillman University. Missionaries established this university in 1901 and we have been told they have NEVER let a band come do an evangelistic concert before. So, all the locals kept telling us this is a VERY big deal that we are invited to play and preach the Gospel. What great favor the Lord has shown us!
We just got back from the event. It was packed with almost a thousand people there. Eric and Ian boldly shared the Gospel with all the students. They exhorted them to make a commitment to Christ and to have a personal relationship with Him. Lives were be changed and the students were able to connect with the local churches to get discipled. Hearts were convicted and refreshed as we worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth. The Lord worked in supernatural ways as we witnessed spiritual revivals within the hearts of these college students.

Vision:
To be an extension ministry of the church committed to equip and challenge our young people to be living examples of the Great Commandment and Great Commission.
Mission Statement:
Purpose:
DEVOTING…We desire to know Jesus in a deep, personal way. Because we believe all that the Bible says about God’s love for us, we want to love Him back by worshiping Him with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.
CONNECTING…We desire to stay strong in this new relationship with Jesus by studying His Word verse by verse. The Bible is God’s love letter to us and it teaches us how to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
BUILDING…We desire to build unity among the youth. Jesus said that people would know you are my disciples by your love for one another. God not only wants us to connect with Him, but also with our peers. We do this by giving special time for fellowship at all our gatherings.
SERVING….We desire to follow the example of Jesus…He did not come to this earth to be served but to serve and to give His life for others. God has given each of us a special gift/talent to serve others with and we desire to develop these gifts among the youth for the glory of God.
REACHING… We desire to tell the world of God’s great love. Jesus told us to go out and share the Good News. We do this by encouraging the youth to reach out to their friends, teaching them how to share their faith and giving them opportunities to minister through outreaches and missions trips.

COME, FOLLOW ME
“Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:61 John 2:6

WP-Bible plugin
VISION:
Jesus came and walked on this earth leaving us a shining example of absolute obedience to God the Father. Our desire is that the youth would understand the crucial truth that those who profess to be His followers and to abide with Him must walk with Him, following His pattern and example. Jesus lived a victorious life on earth and promised that if we accept His invitation to follow Him in obedience, we too will live victoriously!
PRAISE:
After more than 7 years of opening our youth camps to other Calvary Chapel churches, the Lord impressed on our hearts that this year needed to be different. Our youth group was going through a rebuilding stage and we felt strongly that the Lord was moving us to focus on the young people in our own church. We were excited to have a smaller group that would allow for the opportunity to break down barriers and build unity among our youth. That was our hearts desire and the Lord granted us that and so much more.
We learned to follow the footsteps of Jesus through 6 powerful sessions entitled:
We also enjoyed an exciting two-day Sports Fest and Relay Obstacle Course, sweet worship, interactive workshops and Purity sessions, bonfire fellowships, and so much more.
On the last day of camp, we were blessed and moved by the heartfelt testimonies of the youth who stood up to praise God for what He had showed them and to encourage each other to keep following Jesus no matter what! Every camp is an awesome experience with Lord and the youth go home on fire and excited.
But, after a few weeks or months the ‘experience’ can be pushed into the past by problems, pressures, friends, etc. That is why our camps are planned out to be more than just an experience with God but to be a life-changing encounter that would be a turning point in their lives.
We praise the Lord for the awesome work He did through this camp and we give Him all the glory and honor!
